School Project, Q3 2014


A fantasy environment with the general ambiance and mood of the scene as a priority

As this was my first Unreal Engine project I wanted to see how well I fared with the various tools


The first initial school project lasted 4 weeks where I created the bulk of the scene with modular rocks, temple assets, vegetation and sculptures. After that I added some effects, such as fires and waterfalls.

I tried to bring the cave to life with subtle movements throughout the scene. Everything from the wind in the branches to the ripples in the puddles helps


I used a vertex color shader for the floor, which consisted of 3 layers

stone, dirt and muddy water
